Developed by Clough William Ellis over many decades the village is inspired by Italian villages on the Riviera. All the buildings are grade 1 and 2 listed – and there are more than a few. The gardens and woodland walks which go down to the estuary are beautiful. There is also a high class hotel and restaurant as well as other shops and cafes within the village. The cult TV series ‘The Prisoner’ was filmed here in the 1970′s. Situated near Minffordd between Portmadog and Penrhyndeudreath.
